Chris Carter: Imagine the relationships in the last five years of your life that are not contractual. They are always difficult; there are always ups and downs. The same things happen with every serious relationship as happen with people who work together every day. You are happy to live your life and do your work and go home. Just because they don’t socialize outside the workplace doesn’t mean they don’t like each other. There’s really no drama here. -Neon
William B. Davis: If there is [any tension between David and Gillian], I haven’t seen it. But then I haven’t seen them together that often. I don’t see a whole lot of Gillian, period, but when I’ve seen them together they seem fine. They come back to work on Monday and say, ‘Where did you go on the weekend?’ Normal stuff.
Gillian Anderson: Well, most of the time when we have discussions about the press, it has
to do with mending things and saying, "It's not how I feel."
David Duchovny: At this point you can't imagine
anybody else [but Gillian] playing [the] part [of Scully]. There's not just one thing she
does. She's made it her own part. So, there's nobody else to
do it. She brings whatever her talents as an actress are.
Gillian Anderson: There have been defining moments over the past four years where we
have, not necessarily for career advice, but when we have both been there for each
other for support.
Kim Manners: They're totally different human beings, but they can just
look at each other and know exactly where they're going in a scene. It's weird. David and Gillian are best of acquaintances; Scully and Mulder are best friends.
