Question: Did you and David have instant chemistry? Gillian: He came over to me in the hallway at the network audition and asked if we could read through the scene together. We did, and it was amazing. Better than anything that we've done since. -Rolling Stone
Gillian:Summing up working with David... let's go on to another question. (Laughs)
Gillian: I think David is dedicated to doing the work that is appropriate in front of him.
Gillian: We spend so much time together that it's like we were married. I would hope that a marriage was a little more intimate than our relationship. We have a strong working relationship, but our private relationship isn't very strong. We share some things sometimes with each other, but we have that separate outlet through other people in our lives.
Gillian's first impression of David: Very nice, very handsome, very smart, very charming. He was very good and attentive, and worked well on the scenes that we read together during the audition.
Gillian: Our relationship is good. We basically show up and work.
Gillian: I would say the perception that there's animosity between [David and me] is incorrect. It's much more complex than that. It's a complicated relationship. We work very well together. Sometimes we have a lot of fun in the process, make jokes and pull pranks. Sometimes it's just showing up for work. But we don't socialize. That's basically it.
Gillian: We're not close. Once in a while we find ourselves in intimate conversation, but we don't visit each other on the weekends.
Gillian: [David] can be very fun and open and free, and very closed, and so can I.
