"Marines about to go
into battle. Some were standing watch, some readied equipment, some slept or rested, but
all were quiet. No nervous jabbering, no false bravado, no whining, no melodramatics...
they were professionals."
2nd Lieutenant
"Vic" Taylor, on "The Magnificent Bastards"
I had the honor and privilege to serve with the 2nd Battalion 4th Marine Regiment from 1989-1993. The Magnificent Bastards, one of the Marine Corps most decorated battalions, was called to serve time and time again during this period.

The Little Yellow Bus Squad was 3rd Squad, 2nd Platoon, Hotel Co.(See Below) We where in a way a bunch of retarded fellows during liberty. But while on patrol it was a spiritual event. Most of this site is dedicated those butt-heads.

2/4 Med. Float History Log. 1990 and on.
Elements of the battalion once again saw limited action during the summer of 1990. The West African nation of Liberia was experiencing a civil war. BLT 2/4 set sail from Toulon, France on May 27. Once in place off the African Coast, they participated in Operation SHARP EDGE, committing ground forces (237 Marines) around the Embassy on August 5. The battalion re-deployed to the ships on August 21 after evacuating more than 1,650 Americans and foreign nationals.
During the end of December 1990, the battalion deployed by air to Al Jabyl, Saudi Arabia as part of Operation DESERT SHIELD. During Operation DESERT STORM the battalion fought with the 8th Marines as a mechanized-infantry, armor-reinforced, battalion task force during the 2d Marine Division's attack into Kuwait. After the cease-fire, the battalion remained in Kuwait City. 2/4 was the last Marine Infantry battalion withdrawn from Kuwait, arriving in CONUS on 15 May, 1991
Once again reconfigured as a BLT in July 1991, the "Magnificent Bastards" deployed to the Mediterranean in early December 1991 with the 24th MEU (SOC) Second Battalion, Fourth Marines is one of the most decorated battalions in the Marine Corps and has seen active service all around the world.
