My name is Beth and I am writing to you in hopes that you may
help me and my little Yorkie. I live in Ocala, Florida and I own a female
yorkie who has been very ill for the past two months. She is 5 months old now and the vets have suggested she has a shunt and that I need to take her to the University of Florida Vet Hospital so that they may do the surgery. The problem is the surgery can cost $1,500 - $2,500 dollars - Of course money is no object when you love your dog, but I am only 18 and trying to go to college and I cannot afford to pay for the entire surgery. I am writing in hopes that someone can possibly do something to help with her surgery costs. I love my dog and do not want to put her down. The only other possibility is to donate her to the hospital who does the surgery, but anyone who is bonded with their dog knows that it is like their child. I could not imagine having to give my child away just because I couldn't afford to pay a surgery bill.
