Subject: Maricopa Ballot Drive Report

To those interested in ballot status in Maricopa County:

1)    The Maricopa County LP voted on Tuesday night to forego an appeal of 
the Court of Appeals decision, abandon our effective registration drive and 
disband the organization. I was also directed to hold all funds currently in 
the account against outstanding obligations, but not to solicit or accept any 
more donations. I'm still trying to ascertain what our outstanding 
obligations might be.

2)    The September report from the County Recorder was released today. From 
August 1st to September 1st the Libertarians lost a net total of 49 
registrations. I personally submitted 16 registrations, which makes the total 
decline at least 65. I can't say whether it was due o undeliverable 
registration cards or former activists making good on their deregistration 
threat. As the count now stands: 

Total County Registration: 1,262,551
Libertarian Registration: 7,687
Percentage: 0.6088%
Target: (0.667%) 8,418
Short (as of today) 731
Projected short (October 1st) 750.

3)    I am not aware of any verifiable activity in the area of registration 
here in the county by the recognized county party or anyone else. 

4)    There are 20 days left to the October 1st deadline.
