Letter to the Editor, Arizona Republic

Dear Editor:

It is indeed a sad commentary and example of corrupted journalist principles 
presented to the public by the management of the Arizona Republic.  This is 
in reference to your article today on "improving education" and the need for 
additional public funding.  Did our own Jane Hull write the article for you 
or was it her former protege, Lisa Graham?

What has Governor Hull done to insure that the surplus we had when she took 
office was returned to the people who made it possible?  What progress can 
she claim in improving the abysmal performance of public education in our 
state?  How about the tax money spent on credits for purchasing a gas hog 
SUV, paying to convert it to alternative fuel,  and covering the expense 
with tax payer dollars?  Did she stand up and tell our Legislators that the 
money would be better spent on education? Seems to me that "tax and spend" 
will be Governor Hull's legecy.

Ever wonder why your circulation numbers are dwindling, not growing?  Are 
you lobbying for a public subsidy for your biased reporting?

What oversight are you practicing in regards to a review of the allocation 
of the existing budget for education? Throwing money at a problem seldom 
brings the desired results, unless corruption is the goal.  You are hiding 
your deception under a guise that appeals to most of us.  Yes, teachers 
deserve better salaries.  Perhaps you could better serve them by ferreting 
out wasteful spending on construction projects or salaries wasted on people 
like Lisa Graham.
