Some additional ideas.

The concept of the gonzo informal interview camera is ok, but the sound quality sucks due to the background noise of everyone yammering and talking. Not sure how to handle that unless you mic the "informal" conversations.

Make the camera positions permanent. The idea of getting audience facial shots for reactions is okay, but is it needed? If so, ONE camera is tasked to do that. I hear a comment or two about Rick's and my roaming being distracting. Also, a second position camera, like I was, allows for a change of angle shot on the speaker while still allowing continuity...well, in theory.

I was able to film Bumper....but only a head shot due to the SPOTLIGHT pointing right at my camera...I had to frame him to gt the camera and starburst out of the shot...not easy. However, audio isn't good.

As for tape changing, I am thinking the BEST way to handle this, which will be marginally more expensive, but not much, is to have ONE tape per panel. When a speaker is done, change tapes. This also allows for duplicating only that portion of the tape if needed. I started to do this toward the end. In retrospect, I should have changed after each panel or speaker.

My thoughts, Tim
