Note that the giga-bucks missile "defense" shield fantasy would be 
completely useless against the kinds of attacks we've seen today.

Our attackers don't need missiles.  Hell, they don't even need 
suitcase nuclear bombs!

Our great wealth and endless consumption guarantee that WE will place 
several thousand massive bombs in the air at every moment ... for 
whomever wishes to hijack 'em.

Guerillas have ALWAYS used whatever resources were most handy -- 
whether they were sharpened bungie sticks made of bamboo in Viet Nam 
... or just a tiny fraction of the thousands of tanked-up domestic 
commercial craft that we make available every day.
