Nick Gillespie (Ph.D., SUNY-Buffalo) is editor-in-chief of Reason, a monthly magazine on politics and culture with a national circulation of about 60,000. Gillespie has written and spoken extensively on a wide variety of cultural and public policy topics, including mass media, popular culture, immigration, criminal justice, drug policy, and the political process. Gillespie's articles and editorials have appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Utne Reader, National Review, and numerous other publications across the country. Gillespie received his doctorate in American literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds master's degrees from SUNY-Buffalo and Temple University and received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, where he double majored in psychology and English. Gillespie lives in Oxford, Ohio with his wife and son.
