Rice catches 7 passes for 76 yards, while Jeff Garcia goes 36-of-44 for 402 yards and 2 TDs, as San Francisco dominates Chicago. The Bears manage just 20 minutes time of possession and 104 yards total offense.

Garcia gives the 49ers a 7-0 lead with a 1-yard TD toss to Greg Clark in the 1st quarter. Then Wade Ritchey extends the lead to 10-0 with a 28-yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Garcia adds a 27-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter to help put away the Bears.
