The Tigers extend the lead with RBI singles by Al Kaline and Norm Cash, then Jim Northrop provides the big blow with a Grand Slam opening an 8-0 lead.

With the offensive support, Denny McLain breezes, scattering 9 hits while striking out 7 in a complete game performance.
