David Ortiz' RBI single in the 1st gives Boston the lead, that it never relinguishes in a 'fast' by Red Sox's standards 3:35 contest. There was almost as much action as there was long, contemplative naps outside the batter's box between pitches, foul balls, time-consuming batting glove and pine-tar coated helmet adjustments.

Jon Lester tosses 5 2/3 innings of 3-hit scoreless ball in his 1st post-season start. MVP Mike Lowell collects 2 hits and 1 RBI. Manny Ramirez/Whoopi Goldberg goes hitless.
