Game Notes

Seems like old times for Francisco Cordero as an ugly 9th-inning meltdown marks his return to Arlington, as the Rangers rally for a 4-3 win over the Brewers.

Making his 1st appearance at the Ballpark in Arlington since being traded to Milwaukee in 2006, Cordero suffers his 1st blown save of the season as Texas strikes for 4 runs after being down to the final out with no runners on base and trailing 3-0.

The Rangers get 5 hits and a walk after 2 outs, including being down to the final strike 3 times. After Brad Wilkerson singles and Ramon Vazquez walks to start the rally, Gerald Laird singles in the 1st run. Kenny Lofton's infield single plates Vazquez and then Marlon Byrd goes up the middle scoring the tying run. Michael Young's single to right drives in Lofton for the winning run.

Starting pitchers:
Brewers - Ben Sheets
Rangers - Brandon McCarthy

Winning pitcher - Frank Francisco (1-0)
Losing pitcher - Cordero (0-1)
