Game Notes

Dodgers edge the Cardinals 4-3 in 10 innings.

Andre Either's RBI-single recovers for Los Angeles after the bullpen lets a lead slip away denying 20-year-old Clayton Kershaw a win in his MLB debut. Kershaw, the Dodgers' top pick in the 2006 draft, allowed 5 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings after being promoted from Double-A Jacksonville. The left-hander departed leading 3-2, but a throwing error by Russell Martin in the 7th helps the lead slip away.

Martin had contributed an RBI double and RBI single, and Luis Maza hits his first MLB homer. After the Cardinals drew even in the 6th, Martin scores Juan Pierre with a single in the bottom of the 6th.
