Game Notes

Jeff Weaver, Mariners shutdown the White Sox 6-0.

Weaver tosses a complete game, 5-hitter stopping Chicago's attack. However, its a 1-2-3 inning tossed by White Sox reliever Bobby Jenks that makes history.

Jenks tosses out Adam Jones after a comebacker to retire the 39th straight batter he faced, breaking the AL record of 38 straight outs set by David Wells. After getting Jamie Burke on a liner, Jenks retires Yuniesky Betancourt with a ground ball for his 41st straight out, matching the MLB record of 41 straight retired set by Jim Barr in 1972.
