Game Notes

Braves again rally late to beat the Marlins, 5-4.

A night after rallying in the 9th, then winning in 10 innings, Atlanta strikes in the bottom of the 8th. Trailing 4-3, Chipper Jones leads off with a single, his 2,202nd career hit, passing Hall of Famer Eddie Matthews for 2nd on the Braves' all-time hit list. Only Hank Aaron had more hits for the Braves' franchise. After Mark Teixiera doubled, Greg Norton's double scores both.

Earlier Jones started Atlanta off with a 3-run HR, the 399th homer of his career. However, Florida overtakes the Braves on a pair of HRs by Dan Uggla, first a solo shot, then a 2-run blast in the 4th.
