After the first two batters, hit, driving Ruthven from the game, Jerry Morales stretches the lead with a Sac Fly, and later Buckner doubles home 2 runs. Waller delivers a bases-loaded triple and scores on Tim Blackwell's single for a 12-0 lead.

Mike Krukow is the beneficiary, crusing to complete game shutout, scattering 9 hits.
