Game Notes

Reds score a 9-6 win over the Pirates as Jay Bruce makes a huge debut.

Bruce, Cincinnati's prized prospect, goes 3-for-3 with a double, 2 runs, 2 RBI, a stolen base and 2 walks in his MLB debut. Meanwhile, Adam Dunn provides the power with a 3-run HR that makes him the Reds' all-time HR leader among left-handed batters, surpassing the mighty Ted Klusewski with his 252nd career homer.

Bruce and Dunn play a big role as Cincinnati erases a 3-0 deficit with a mid-inning outburst. After Brandon Phillips' Sac Fly gets the Reds on the board in the 5th, Dunn follows with his 3-run blast, with Bruce scoring one of the runs. Then Cincinnati scores 4 more times in the 6th, with Bruce providing a run-scoring single, and Dunn adding an RBI single.
