Jon Lester no hits the Royals in a 7-0 win for the Red Sox.

Lester tosses the 1st no-hitter since teammate Clay Buchholz accomplished the feat in September 2007. Lester, who survived cancer, to return to the big leagues in 2007, walked 2 and struck out 9 in his first complete game as a MLB pitcher. Catcher Jason Varitek becomes the first to catch 4 no-hitters in a career.

Boston gives Lester breathing room with a 5-run 3rd inning that saw the 1st 4 runs score on a double play, a walk and an error. Varitek adds a 2-run HR in the 6th.
