Minnesota overcomes Ellis Burks' 3-homer night, and two late inning rallies by Cleveland. The Indians score 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to lead 7-6. However, the Twins answer with 2 runs in the top of the 9th off Bob Wickman, only to have Cleveland tie it again with a run in the bottom of the inning on a bases loaded walk by Kenny Lofton.

Minnesota finally wins it in the 12th when A.J. Pierzynski doubles in two runs. Brian Buchanan has 4 hits on the night, a single, 2 doubles and a homer.
