Kevin Slowey loses his bid for a shutout in the 9th, but tosses his 1st career complete game as Minnesota sweeps Kansas City, sending the Royals to their 11th straight loss. Slowey scatters 6 hits while walking none and striking out 6.

Chris Gomez goes 4-for-5 with a double, a run and 2 RBI to lead Minnesota's attack. Michael Cuddyer's RBI single gets the Twins on the board in the 4th. Gomez scores on Joe Mauer's double in the 5th, and then drives in a pair with a single in the 6th.
