Mike Lamb homers, triples, walks twice and scores 3 runs as Minnesota uses some big innings to overcome 1 big inning by Detroit. The Twins strike for 3 runs in the 2nd, with Chris Gomez and Joe Mauer driving in runs. After Lamb's solo shot in the 6th gives Minnesota a 5-0 lead, the Tigers rally for 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th.

Minnesota closes it out with a 3-run 8th, sparked by Lamb's triple. Kevin Slowey gets his 1st win of the season, tossing 6 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits.
