UNLV struggles offensively, managing just 187 total yards, but Jamaal Brimmer and the defense makes up for it. Brimmer records 2 sacks, 2 INTs, a fumble recovery, scores a TD and sets up 2 more TDs. Brimmer gets UNLV out to a 10-0 lead after his 55-yard return for a TD of a fumble.

Wisconsin closes to 10-5 in the 2nd quarter, but Brimmer's 1st INT and return sets up Kurt Nantkes' 6-yard TD pass to Earvin Johnson w/ 8:03 left in the 2nd quarter. Brimmer picks Jim Sorgi again on the opening possession of the 2nd half, setting up Nantkes' 8-yard TD pass to Johnson.
