Charlie Frye, Zips stage a huge rally to beat the Thundering Herd 31-28.

Marshall takes a 28-7 lead in the 3rd quarter on Stan Hill's 3rd TD pass. Frye connects with Domenick Hixon for a 24-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter to pull Akron within 28-14.

Then the Zips make up the difference and better in the final 2:18. Frye hits Jason Montgomery with a 6-yard TD pass, and Akron recovers an onside kick setting up Montgomery's leaping 18-yard TD pass at the back of the end zone w/ :45 left. Then the improbable comeback takes an unexpected turn when Herd punter Ian O'Connor drops the ball, allowing Jason Swigger to nail a 43-yard game-winning FG on the final play.

Frye finishes 28-of-45 for 322 yards and 3 TDs, while adding a 31-yard TD run in the 1st half. Hixon catches 13 for 192 yards.

Hill goes 37-of-53 for 439 yards and 3 TDs, with Josh Davis catching 15 for 197 yards and 1 TD, while Brad Bates adds 11 catches for 114 yards and 1 TD.
