Omar Jacobs throws for 389 yards and 5 TDs, while P.J. Pope runs for 117 yards and 2 TDs as the Bowling Green offense looks unstoppable. Pope scores on a 1-yard run and Jacobs hits Steve Sanders with a 13-yard TD pass in a span of 21 seconds late in the 1st quarter opening a 21-7 lead.

Marshall pulls to within 35-28 early in the 2nd half, but then Jacobs connects with Pope on a 4-yard TD pass and Charles Sharon for a 45-yard TD pass followed by Keon Newson's 42-yard INT return for a score, breaking the game wide open.

Sanders catches 6 for 116 yards and 1 TD, while Sharon has 5 receptions for 168 yards and 2 TDs. Marshall's Stan Hill throws for 349 yards and 2 TDs.
