No offense.... but defense wins it for #4 Crimson Tide, in 17-0 victory over the Bulldogs.

Alabama's offense produces a 38-yard FG by Jamie Christensen in the 2nd quarter. Then the Tide score off a pair of returns early in the 3rd quarter to pull away. Kenneth Darby runs for 122 yards for Alabama, while the Tide manages 298 yards offense. But that seems like a big number compared to Mississippi State which accounts for just 103 yards.

Alabama gets in the end zone when Jimmy Johns jars the ball loose on the 2nd half kickoff and Matt Miller returns it 15 yards for the TD. Five plays into the ensuing possession, Rudy Griffin intercepts Mike Henig and returns it 17 yards for the score.
