Game Notes

Cornhuskers beat the #20 Wolverines in a bizarre ending.

Michigan is unable to put away another opponent, blowing an 11-point lead in the 4th quarter. The Cornhuskers trail 28-17, but Cory Ross scores on a 31-yard run, and Zac Taylor hits Todd Peterson for a 2-point play. Then Taylor connects with Terrence Nunn for a 13-yard TD w/ 4:29 to play.

And then things get crazy. On the final play, Chad Henne completes a short pass, and Michigan begins lateralling the ball, at one point the ball is fumbled and recovered by the Wolverines. Nebraska's bench clears filling the field with Cornhuskers while officials have run off the field, and the play is still live. Tyler Ecker is pushed out of bounds at the Nebraska 13. The question of whether Nebraska should be penalized for too many players on the field is left unanswered because the officials left before the play was over.

The chaos overshadows a good game between traditional powers wrapping up disappointing seasons. Taylor is 14-of-31 for 167 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs. Ross runs for 161 yards.

Henne goes 21-of-43 for 270 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT, and also rushes for 38 yards, including a 7-yard TD.
