Wolverines give the #8 Nittany Lions a nightmarish end to a storybook start, winning 27-25 on the final play.

Chad Henne hits Mario Manningham for a 10-yard TD pass for the game-winner. Michael Robinson had put Penn State ahead 25-21 with a 3-yard TD run w/ :53 left. But Steve Breaston's kick return to the Michigan 47 sets the stage for the Wolverines' rally, capping a wild high-scoring 4th quarter.

Michigan leads 10-3 starting the 4th quarter, but Robinson scores on a 4-yard TD run to tie it w/ 11:56 left. Then Alex Zemaitis steals the ball from Michael Hart, and returns it 35 yards for the score. In rushing to avoid Instant Replay, Penn State's snap is bad on the PAT, but kicker Kevin Kelly carries it in for a 18-10 lead with 11:39 remaining in the game.

The Wolverines match the Lions with a 33-yard TD pass from Henne to Manningham and a 2-point conversion. Garrett Rivas' 47-yard FG makes it 21-18 w/ 3:45 left.

Henne goes 21-of-36 for 212 yards and 2 TDs, while Hart runs for 108 yards and 1 TD. Robinson leads Penn State, throwing for 239 yards, and running for 67 more.
