#11 Mountaineers blitz the #8 Bulldogs early, then overcome a huge rally to win 38-35.

West Virginia, which finishes 11-1, races to a 28-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. Darius Reynaud catches a 3-yard TD pass from Pat White and scores on a 13-yard run.

But the story for the Mountaineers is Steve Slaton. Slaton starts the scoring with a 52-yard TD off a draw play. Slaton's 18-yard TD later gives West Virginia its 28-0 lead w/ 14:10 left in the first half. Slaton, who rushes for 204 yards, later adds another 52-yard TD after Georgia closed the lead to 31-28.

The Bulldogs won't quit. Kregg Lumpkin scores on a 34-yard run, and then Thomas Brown adds a 52-yard TD run. Following a West Virginia FG, D.J. Shockley connects with Leonard Pope on a 3-yard TD pass to cut it to 31-21 at the half.

Shockley adds a 34-yard TD pass to A.J. Bryant to cut it to 31-28 in the 3rd quarter. Shockley later hits Bryan McClendon on a 43-yard TD pass to pull back to within 3 again, but Georgia can't find another score.

Shockley finishes 20-of-33 for 277 yards and 3 TDs, and adds another 71 yards on the ground.
