Andre Dixon has 168 total yards and 2 TDs to lead UConn. Dixon has the Huskies' 1st score on a 9-yard TD catch from Tyler Lorenzen. He has 4 catches for 52 yards, while picking up 116 yards on just 12 carries. Dixon gets the bulk of his yardage on a 55-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter that breaks the game open and gives the Huskies a 37-10 lead.

Tyvon Branch's 97-yard KO return for a score late in the 2nd quarter may have been the turning point. Akron had taken a 10-9 lead on Chris Jacquemain's 6-yard TD pass to Jabari Arthur. But Branch's return restores the lead for UConn and starts a run of 35 straight points by the Huskies.
