Utah preserves its 7th straight bowl win when Joe Dale intercepts Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada in the final minute after Navy recovered the onside kick following Kaheaku-Enhada's 58-yard TD pass to Zerbin Singleton with :57 left in the game. The Middies' rally was delayed following a blown call (later admitted) that resulted in Navy taking over on its own 1 rather than the 20.

The ensuing possession went nowhere and set up Darrell Mack's 1-yard TD pass for a 35-25 lead w/ 1:27 remaining. The Utes grabbed control of the game after trailing 17-7 early in the 3rd quarter. Brian Johnson throws for 1 TD and runs for another while throwing for 226 yards and rushing for 69 yards.
