Alabama dominates, outgaining the Tigers 412-to-170, to win the Iron Bowl for the 1st time in 7 years. The combination of a disppointing season, the arrival of a slimeball as savior in Tuscaloosa make Tuberville's streak against Alabama irrelevant to administration and boosters who encourage his resignation in the wake of the defeat.

The Tide starts slowing, managing a Leigh Tiffin FG in the 1st quarter and Glen Coffee 41-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter, before breaking the game open with 3 TDs in the 3rd quarter. But its the defense that records the first shutout against Auburn since 1992.
