Game Notes

Falcons come out on top 35-34 after a wild swing of fortune with the Wolfpack.

Bowling Green blows a 28-3 lead, yielding 31 straight points in the 2nd half, but survives after Nevada punter Steven Lester botches a perfect punt snap deep in his own end in the final minutes of the game. The mistake gives the Falcons an opportunity to win, with the ball at the Nevada 15 and 1:45 left to play. However, it takes a 4th down pass from Erik White to Dave Hankins for a 3-yard TD w/ :22 remaining to win it.

White throws for 245 yards and 2 TDs, while catching another score. Zeb Jackson rushes for 113 yards and 2 TDs, his 17-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter gives Bowling Green a 28-3 lead and total control of the game.

However, Nevada backup QB Chris Vargas enters late in the first half, and engineers a huge 2nd half-rally, throwing for 283 yards and 2 TDs, and guiding the Wolfpack to 5 scoring possession. Nevada takes the lead when receiver Bryan Reeves scores on a 3-yard run w/ 12:41 left in the game for a 31-28 edge.
