Game Notes

#17 Buckeyes rally for a 13-13 tie with the #6 Wolverines.

Michigan is unbeaten, but thrice tied after Ohio State erases a 13-3 deficit in the 4th quarter to perhaps save John Cooper's job. Cooper gets a break when Elvis Grbac is knocked out of the game with a rib injury after scoring on a 3-yard run. The 2nd break comes when Peter Elezovic misses the PAT leaving the Wolverines ahead 6-3.

Without Grbac, Michigan's offense struggles, however, Todd Collins scores on a 1-yard run to open a 13-3 lead.

Cooper's next big break is a career day from Kirk Herbstreit. Herbstreit enters with just 3 TDs for the season, but tosses for 259 yards and 1 TD in his final home game. His 5-yard TD pass to Greg Beatty w/ 4:24 left ties the game 13-13.

Michigan survives a late scare when Shawn Collins recovers a fumbled punt by Derrick Alexander inside the 10 in the final minutes.
