Game Notes

Louisiana All-Stars beat the Texas (Houston area) All-Stars 7-3 as defenses dominate.

After a scoreless 1st half, Louisiana puts together the game's best drive on the 1st possession of the 2nd half. Joey Guedry caps it with a 20-yard TD pass to Kendrick Walls (Southeastern Louisiana) on a slant. Walls has 4 catches for 56 yards. Walls, Guedry and RB Charles Scott (LSU) are the most productive members of a sluggish offense.

Texas' opportunity to tie the game in the 3rd quarter slips away. After Texas recovers a fumble inside the Louisiana 20, the drive goes backwards before Jeff Miller ends up kicking a 35-yard FG.

Louisiana's defense dominates, with LB Shomari Clemons (LSU), CB Thomas Connors (Southeastern Louisiana) and DT Christopher Joseph leading.

Texas' defense limits Louisiana's attack for much of the game with DT Rajon Henley (Texas Tech), DT Jesse Trejo (Sam Houston State) and DB Jerrel Rout (Texas Tech) standing out. Rout stops one Louisiana threat with an INT at the 1. RB Ryan Montague (Utah State) and QB L.J. Castile (Houston) are the standouts on Texas' offense.
