Louisiana jumps out to a 21-0 lead and cruises to the win. Scott Buisson (Arkansas-Monticello) hits Brady Miles (SE Louisiana) for a 6-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter. And then Buisson scrambles for a 14-yard TD run. Ben Alsup's 24-yard TD pass to James Lyons opens a 21-0 edge.

Texas gets on the board when DeWayne Stewart scores on a 2-yard run following an INT by DB Curtis Thomas (Minnesota). However, Louisiana regains control when DB Patrick Chitman (NW Louisiana) returns an INT 52 yards for a TD.

Texas gets a consolation score late when JoJo Florence (Houston) catches a 6-yard TD pass from J.J. McDermott.

Louisiana's defense is anchored by linemen Kentravis Aubrey (LSU) and Wilson Youman III (Oklahoma State).
