McKeesport Tigers blow away Gateway in the 4th quarter for a 47-17 win, and Quad Southwest conference championship.

The Gators stay close trailing just 20-17 entering the 4th quarter, thanks to a pair of TD passes from Aaron Smith (Pitt) to David Williams (Michigan State). Smith and Williams combine on an 82-yarder in the 1st half, and a 25-yarder late in the 3rd quarter cutting it to 20-17. Williams finishes with 3 catches for 120 yards.

But McKeesport's defense and running game take over in the 4th quarter. Warren Waite's 7-yard TD run opens the lead to 27-17, and then RB/LB Travis McBride (Penn State) intercepts Smith. One play later, McBride breaks loose for a 30-yard TD run. McBride follows with a 23-yard TD run. McBride finishes with 104 yards rushing, while LB/FB Anthony Leonard (West Virginia) adds a 13-yard TD for the finishing touch.

Tigers' QB Dan Kopolovich (Princeton) performs perfectly, rushing for 175 yards and 2 TDs, while throwing for 78 more, including a 53-yard TD pass to Robert Doiley.

Gateway also includes LB Dan Loheyde (Pitt), kicker/punter Matt Lichtenstein (Princeton), DE Jordan Stevens (Miami, Ohio) and junior TE Jon Ditto (Penn State).
