Game Notes

Homestead Highlanders stay unbeaten, putting away Germantown 29-14.

Homestead, the No. 2 ranked Division 1 team, grabs an immediate lead when Ryan Lunde intercepts Warhawks QB Cody Griebling on the game's 1st play and returns it 20 yards for the TD. Griebling and Germantown respond with a 16-yard TD pass to Jacob Stadler.

The Highlanders take the lead for good on Taylor Layton's 32-yard FG following a sack and forced fumble by DE John Knepel (North Dakota State). Homestead extends the lead to 16-7 before halftime on Justin Segura's 7-yard TD run.

Casey McGushin's 21-yard TD pass to Korey Kasper extends the lead to 22-7. But Griebling responds with his 2nd TD pass before Homestead puts it away with Brandon Winters' 10-yard TD run in the 4th quarter.

Homestead features OL Brad Thorson (Wisconsin), junior LB Dillon Forbes (North Dakota State). Germantown includes lineman Mike Krause (Northern Illinois) and FB Jack Wallace (Yale).
