Game Notes

Jenks Trojans finally top the Union Redskins 48-44 in incredible contest with wild finish.

Jenks scores 4 TDs in the 4th quarter, erasing a 37-20 deficit, and then making the final big play as the lead changes hands twice in the final minute. Jake Strain's 63-yard TD pass to Isaac Norman (Missouri Southern) w/ :18 left decides it. Two plays previous, Union had taken the lead on Casey Whorton's 9-yard TD pass to Kegon Beers w/ :34 left after Jenks had scored 3 TDs in a 3-minute span to take a 41-37 lead.

Strain, who enters in place of injured sophomore starter Mark Ginther, starts the comeback when he connects with Brandon McLaurin (Missouri Southern) for a 20-yard TD w/ 6:32 left in the game. Then after McLaurin recovers, setting up Strain's 19-yard TD pass to Steven Campbell. After the Redskins fumble a snap on the next series, sophomore Chris Adkins scores on 15-yard TD taking the lead w/ 3:46 left.

Adkins, who rushes for 164 yards, gave the Trojans a 14-0 lead with his 1st TD. Strain is 5-of-8 for 119 yards, while Ginther goes 7-of-8 for 72 yards and 2 TDs before leaving with an injury.

However, Jenks' early lead disappears as Whorton and receiver Jake Borgsmiller take over. Whorton throws for 197 yards and 4 TDs, hitting Borgsmiller for 3 TDs and 11 catches for 163 yards.

Union's Renard Johnson (Missouri Southern) rushes for 192 yards and 1 TD, while CB Dominique Franks (Oklahoma) returns a kickoff 96 yards for a TD.
