Pittsburgh Central Catholic overpowers the Norwin Knights for a 49-12 victory.

Norwin stuns the Vikings early, taking a 6-0 lead just 3 plays into the game on a 16-yard TD pass from T.J. Salopek (Mercyhurst) to Corey Queen. The Vikings respond with a 23-yard TD run from LB/FB Nate Williams (Northwestern). However, Salopek connects with sophomore Mike Shanahan (Pitt) on an 18-yard TD pass giving the Knights a 12-7 lead after just 2 possessions. Salopek goes 17-of-30 for 205 yards.

But Norwin is no match for Central Catholic's power. The Vikings grab the lead when junior RB/CB Lamont Smith (Colorado) scores on a 33-yard TD on a 4th down w/ :40 left in the 1st quarter. Smith runs for 131 yards on 11 carries in the 1st quarter alone. Smith adds 2 more TD runs, finishing with 192 yards running behind a line that features OT Pat Illig (Wofford), G Mack Loughery (Columbia) and junior OT Stefan Wisniewski (Penn State).

The Vikings get defensive TDs when soph Andrew Taglianetti (Pitt) returns one INT 33 yards for a score, and then Darian Hazlip returns another 68 yards.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic also includes junior CB Anthony Bailey (Maine), sophomore DE/TE Quentin Williams (Northwestern).
