Game Notes

Middletown South Eagles overwhelm Wall 27-7 without needing superstar RB Knowshon Moreno.

Moreno (Georgia) is limited by a sore ankle, and gains 47 yards on 10 carries. But the Eagles don't need a contribution from the New Jersey high school record holder for TDs and and points. Quarterback Matt Walsh (Monmouth) picks up the offense. Walsh hits Mark Longo (Cornell) for a 28-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter, and then star junior Dayon Lane for a 22-yard TD in the 2nd quarter giving Middletown South a 12-0 lead. Walsh finishes 4-of-4 for 72 yards.

Longo extends the lead in the 2nd half with a 63-yard INT return for a score. Lane later adds an interception as the Eagles defense led by star LBs Nick Macaluso (Stanford) and Keith Heaney (Lafayette) dominates. Safety Eric Daneman (Wagner) also contributes an INT, while DE Andrew Poulson (Lafayette) is disruptive throughout.

An incredible juggling catch for an 11-yard TD by Steve Bower from QB/DB Chad Tirpack (Monmouth) keeps the Crimson Knights from being shutout.

Wall also includes DE Tim Kukucka (Villanova), WR/DB Adam Mancino (Bucknell), RB Mike Avallone (Wagner), junior OT Chris Fortunato (Penn),
