Game Notes

Wayne Hills Patriots stun rival Ramapo 27-26 with a big 2nd half comeback.

The Raiders lead 26-7 at the half after a big performance by Chris Hogan, a lacrosse All-American. However, Hogan gets knocked out of the game after a blow to the head, and the Patriots over-take the Raiders in his absence.

Hogan catches 5 passes for 92 yards and 2 TDs, and runs for 23 yards and another TD on 3 carries. Adrian Pisarri's 18-yard TD pass to Hogan w/ :24 left in the 1st half puts Ramapo in command.

However, Hogan is knocked off the game while playing defense, and Wayne Hills continues on with Ray VanPeenen scoring his 2nd TD on a 1-yard run pulling the Patriots to within 26-13 w/ 4:08 left in the 3rd quarter. Michael Peischl hits Alex Gibson for a 5-yard TD pass late in the 3rd quarter.

VanPeenan's 9-yard TD run in the 4th quarter completes the rally. Peischel goes 15-of-20 for 200 yards, including 12-of-15 for 186 yards in the 2nd half. Receiver Nick Romeo (Monmouth) catches 5 for 142 yards, and adds an INT on defense.

Wayne Hills also includes TE John Ihne (Massachusetts), junior DE Dave Ogden (Monmouth), junior DT Scott Schultz (UConn), junior LB Michael Fullam (Monmouth).

Ramapo includes junior LB Derek King (Monmouth).
