Soutlake-Carroll Dragons dominate Evangel Christian 43-16.

The Dragons roll out to a 43-0 lead, and with the Eagles' 1st 2 QBs knocked out, a comeback is out of the question. Junior Riley Dodge (North Texas) goes 14-of-24 for 256 yards and 4 TDs, while junior Tre Newton (Texas) carries 12 times for 80 yards and 1 TD.

Newton begins the rout with a 1-yard TD run in the 1st quarter. Then DE Bryce Saldi (UNLV) begins a 2nd quarter onslaught, sacking Dez Duron in the end zone for a safety. Dodge follows with a blitzkreig on the Evangel secondary. Dodge hits Anthony Ford (Georgetown) with a 29-yard TD, then hooks up with junior Blake Cantu (Oregon) for a 32-yard TD. Dodge adds an 18-yard TD pass to Ethan Cunningham as the Dragons open a 34-0 lead by halftime. The final TD came 1 play after LB Justin Padron (North Texas) has an INT.

Dodge applies the finishing touch, hitting Cantu for a 33-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter.

Sophomore RB Cerderrick Tyson moves to QB after the 1st 2 QBs go down, and provides Evangel with some bright moments, hitting Jeremy Little (New Mexico State) for a TD pass and then adding a 3-yard TD run.

Evangel includes DE Jared Barron (Louisiana Tech), DE Troy Evans (NE Louisiana), junior WR Roderick Banks (Southern), junior LB Zack Summage (Louisiana Tech).
