Mentor Cardinals put away Massillon-Washington 19-7.

Mentor recovers from a big mistake early in the 3rd quarter to overpower the Tigers. Massillon-Washington goes up 7-0 on a 2-yard TD run by RB/S Brian Gamble (Illinois) after recovering a pooch kick on the 2nd half kickoff.

The Cardinals respond with a 15-play drive, capped by junior Bart Tanski's 7-yard TD pass to Brandon James. Mentor takes the lead, 12-7, on Bill Deitman's 2-yard TD run. Tanski's 1-yard TD run in the 4th quarter seals the outcome.

Tanski throws for 101 yards and runs for 98 yards. Mentor also includes DE/OG Brady DeMell (Navy), DT/OT Steve Matas (Illinois), CB Nate Wilson (Eastern Michigan), junior OT Brad Bednar (Miami O.), junior K Kevin Harper (Pitt).

Gamble rushes for 115 yards for the Tigers. Massillon-Washington also includes LB/WR Andrew Dailey (Penn State) and junior K Steve Schott (Ball State).
