The Armwood Hawks beat the Lake Gibson Fighting Braves, 49-21, again in the Class 4A championship, as the BMW backfield is too good.

Armwood beat Lake Gibson 29-21 in the 2003 final, but this year the Hawks leave no doubt, rolling to a 21-0 halftime lead, and a 4-touchdown lead in the 3rd quarter.

Fullback Kalvin Bailey (Iowa) runs for 138 yards and 3 TDs. QB Jameel Williams (Bethune-Cookman) adds 139 yards on the ground and 1 rushing TD, and goes 5-for-5 passing and 142 yards and 2 TDs.

Demetrius McCray (Indiana) rounds out the BMW backfield, running for 40 yards, while catching 2 passes for 27 yards and 2 TDs.

Armwood also features DB R.J. Anderson (South Florida), WR Aaron Davis (Bowling Green), K Reid Macko (Kent State), OL Chat Peterson (Navy), and WR Kareem Royal (The Citadel), junior S Lance Tillison (Iowa) and junior G Bert McBride (Stanford).

Lake Gibson QB Matt Groethe, the Class 4A player of the year, completes 18-of-34 for 278 yards and 2 TDs, but also is intercepted 3 times. The USF-bound QB also adds another 73 yards running.
