Meanwhile, Lakeland's defense led by DT Kendrick Stewart (Florida State) and junior S Troy Johnson (Iowa) stop the Raiders attack, holding it to just 87 yards total offense. Stewart has 4 tackles, and 1 sack. Sophomore stud DT John Brown (Florida) adds 1 1/2 sacks.

The Dreadnaughts also include backup QB junior Billy Lowe (Northern Illinois), and star sophomore RB/LB Jamar Taylor (Alabama), who adds a 4th quarter TD run.

St. Thomas Aquinas struggles offensively, save a few big passes that include a 34-yard TD pass from Michael Dougherty (Brown University) to junior Steven Brown (Idaho) that cuts it to 10-7 w/ 7:18 left in the 2nd quarter. Kicker Joe Surgan (Duke) adds the PAT. Star WR Richard Goodman (Florida State) has 3 catches for 26 yards.

The Raiders' defense must play without injured LB Beau Brudzinski (Toledo). But Aquinas also features DE John Duhe (Toledo), CB Keiron Brown (Toledo), CB Ken Thompson (Fordham), DE Allen Carmody (Hofstra), junior safety Everett Lewis (N.C. State), and junior LB Geno Atkins (Georgia).

Offensively, the Raiders include junior WR Phillip Gardner (Kent), junior RB Marcel Archer (Central Michigan), junior RB Bobby Crawford (Western Michigan), junior C Dan Wenger (Notre Dame), and junior tackles Sam Young (Notre Dame) and Marcus Gilbert (Florida).
