Palm Beach Gardens Gators swallow up Deerfield Beach 49-29 for their 1st state title.

Palm Beach Gardens scores on its 1st 7 possessions, and rolls up 434 yards rushing while attempting just 1 pass. Star RB/LB Emmanuel Cook (South Carolina) abuses the Bucks' defense, rushing for 243 yards and 4 TDs. RB/WR/DB Jermaine Grandison (Gardner-Webb) contributes 130 yards rushing and 2 TDs, while adding an INT on defense.

The Gators make a big early statement, as Grandison breaks free for a 58-yard TD sprint, then Cook scores on a 44-yard burst, and Julius Harris (Albany) makes their lone pass count, when he hits Norman Nicholas for a 53-yard TD, and 21-7 lead in the 1st quarter.

Deerfield Beach TE Pat Nemorin (Rutgers) tries to keep the Bucks in it, catching a pair of TD passes from Brad McClellan (Alcorn State). The pair combine on a 71-yarder, then a 20-yard TD to pull within 21-14.

However, Cook responds with TD runs of 24 and 2 yards for a 35-14 lead before halftime.
