Game Notes

Muskegon's Big Reds survive DeLaSalle for a 32-30 win.

Muskegon erases a 16-12 halftime deficit and overcomes a KO return for a score that negates an early 3rd quarter comeback. Junior Chris Crawford (Grand Valley State) hits 5-of-7 passes for 137 yards and 1 TD, while rushing for 228 yards and 2 TDs, including an 83-yard TD early in the 3rd quarter that briefly gives Muskegon a 19-16 lead. However, the Pilots' Jimmy Berezik returns the ensuing KO 89 yards for a score.

Berezik runs for 59 yards and 2 TDs and has 238 total yards. However, the Pilots don't have enough answers for the Big Reds' stars.

Ashton Leggett (Michigan State) finds the end zone on a 2-yard run on the possession following Berezik's return. Then Crawford connects with WR/CB Ronald Johnson (USC) for a 47-yard TD pass to take a 32-23 lead early in the 4th quarter. Crawford also scored on a 52-yard run in the 2nd quarter, while Johnson started the scoring by returning a fumble 36 yards for a score in the 1st.

Leggett finishes with 57 yards rushing, while Johnson catches 4 passes for 116 yards and adds another 109 yards on punt and kick returns.

Muskegon includes junior OT Carlin Landingham (North Dakota State), junior CB Bobby Miller (North Dakota State).

DeLaSalle includes junior TE David Blackburn (Central Michigan) and junior OT Scott McLeod (Eastern Michigan).
