After St. Johns rallies to tie it at the half, Lowell scores 21 unanswered in the 2nd half to win it 38-17.

The Red Arrows ride a big performance by soph QB Keith Nichol (Oklahoma). Nichol runs for 141 yards and throws for 129 yards, while scoring a pair of 4th quarter TD runs to break it open. Nichol helps Lowell open a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter, hitting Mike Koster (Grand Valley State) for a 10-yard TD on the opening possession. Koster has 3 catches for 76 yards.

However, the Redwings rally as Andy Schmitt throws a pair of TDs, the 2nd, a 1-yard toss to Andrew Knauss w/ :26 left following a botched punt by Lowell.

The Red Arrows pull ahead on Ryan Espaugh's 2nd TD run, a 1-yarder late in the 3rd quarter. Espaugh runs for 121 yards.

Lowell also includes G John Rasch (Ferris State) and DB/WR Frank Mulder (Grand Valley State).

The Redwings also include sophomore DB Heath Sutherland (Hillsdale).
