Game Notes

St. Francis Gladiators dominate, snapping Unionville-Sebewaing's 27-game winning streak and bid for consecutive state championships, with a 28-14 victory.

The Gladiators make a statement quickly, taking a 14-0 lead while running just 3 offensive plays. After a 32-yard run by Chad Biggar on St. Francis' 1st play, Blake Remick scores on a 19-yard run just 2 plays later.

Biggar then returns an INT 29 yards for a TD, after DE Patrick Rigan (Michigan State) forces the Patriots' Jordan Bitzer into a bad throw. Rigan also forces a pair of fumbles.

St. Francis extends the lead on 42-yard run by Nathan Farley w/ 4:11 left in the first half, and then a 3-yard run by Biggar in the 3rd quarter. Biggar runs for 131 yards on 14 carries.

The Patriots get some consolation with a 41-yard TD run by Jared Fischer later in the 3rd quarter, and then a 74-yard TD pass from Bitzer to Benjamin Hoppe in the 4th quarter.

U-SA also includes DT David Kingsley (Saginaw Valley State).
